Reprimanded? Try fired. Or at least taken off the line and put through additional training then put on probation for a couple of years.
In the USAF, we try to get the Maintenance Group and Ops Group commanders together to have the pilot out helping with the repair.
I've never worked a pirep where the pilot admitted a tail strike! The shock absorbing booms on 727, and MD-80 aircraft have tell tales on them that shear the rivets if they drag the tail. Done over a hundred of tail strike inspections, replaced hundreds of cartridges, and can't remember a single tail strike pirep. Never heard of any action taken against a flight crew for a tail strike.
More training at least.
I would hope so. At the minimum. A tail strike isn't like touching the kerb while parking your car.
You flyboys crack me up!
- How much money they will cut for refund fee? Or they will give me full money? Turkish airlines refused my tickets. I wanted to go Brazil to meet my wife from Dhaka Bangladesh. It was one way ticket.
- What is the best path to becoming a commercial airline pilot? I have heard going into the Navy or Naval Officer Academy is a great way, but i'm still not sure.
- Can airline pilots have service dogs/esa dogs? If so, do they bring them into the cockpit? It's just a question that popped into my head and when I looked it up I didn't see anything on it so I thought I should ask on here and see if anyone knows.
- Commercial airline pilots only? How much money have you spent to become a commercial pilot and work as one? Also if you don't mind saying how much years of experience do you have and what's your salary?
