is there any chance we can witness snow in these tourist spots this January 29-Feb2?
any recommended budget train rides?
Too much in such a short time. You'll spend most of your time travelling and not seeing anything.
You won't see snow.
Yeah, I think you might want to slow down and just enjoy. Arashiyama is worth a whole day in itself. For four days in Kansai, I think I would go into KIX, stay in the same hotel in Osaka, and just commute to Kyoto or Nara.
Day 1 depends on what time your flight gets in. If it's early morning, and you can be on the bullet train to Kyoto by 10AM, then I think it's OK. (it's a 2-hour journey by regular train otherwise)
Day 2 is too busy. Either USJ or Osaka Castle / Dotonbori. Choose which you prefer. I think it's too much otherwise, especially if you're needing to travel to your next location that evening.
Personally, I would cut the Shirakawa-go part from your plans - it's a pretty big detour, and there's already plenty to do in Kansai. Why not substitute that with a day trip to Nara?
Hi where do you think we can go to for some snow sightseeing?
No.
Day 1: You don't say when you're arriving. If early enough, you could see Kinkakuji. Gion is possible in the evening. Fushimi Inari is open 24/7. So in theory, it is possible. But to start sprinting as soon as you land may be brutal.
Day 2: No way in hell - especially in the dead of winter. Unless you want an inch deep experience at each. Osaka to Takayama is at least 3 hours by train.
Day 3: Possible - browsing through Sanmachi Suji shouldn't take long, and you can cover Shirakawago in a few hours. Expect cold and likely your best chance to see lots of snow.
I wouldn't do things your way, but it's your time.
- Overnight layover in Japan without visa I'm a Philippine passport holder? I'm travelling from Canada to Manila via Haneda Airport in Japan, do i need visa for an overnight layover?
- ANA/United codeshare or Delta for flying to Japan? So my dad and I are thinking about flying to Japan next summer, and we're unsure about what airline to take. First of all, we live in the Huntsville, AL, area, but flying out of the Huntsville airport is expensive. Our two main options are to either fly out of Nashville on a United flight to Chicago and then connect to a nonstop ANA flight to Tokyo, or just take Delta nonstop to Tokyo from Atlanta. Which option would be better?
- How come multi-city destinations can't be booked as one itinerary, or can it? Tried Kayak and it qouldnt allow it to be one itinerary, ones throug Justfly and the other was American Airlines.
- Bus IC Cards in Japan? Hi! I'm planning to go to Japan at the end of the year, and want to plan everything out first. I would like to know which kind of IC card to use if I want to get on a bus from Kansai Airport to USJ in Osaka as well as Kyoto. I looked up the cards, and there seem to be so many to choose from. Which card is suitable for travelling by bus in these places. And if you can, maybe explain how the busses work? Is there english in the signs?
