Do drivers license to board a commercial airline in the united statesyou need an enhanced?
Added (1). do you need an enhanced drivers license to board a commercial airline in the united states?
No, an enhanced driver's license is not even available in all states. It's meant to faciliate land border crossings between the US and Canada and is only available in select border states.
A regular driver's license is currently sufficient for air travel within the US.
No.
Right now any drivers license will work. When TSA starts requiring REAL ID Act compliance licenses, then DLs that comply with that act will be required.
Enhanced DLs are REAL ID Act compliant, but there are plenty of other REAL ID Act compliant licenses that aren't Enhanced DLs.
The list of acceptable IDs is on TSA.gov.
Not as of yet. You have until October 1st, 2020 until the compliance with the REAL ID Act is enforced. (A little more than 1.5 years.) You can still travel with the driver's license you have.

My flight is via Colombo from Chennai with a transit time of 20 hrs in between. I'm travelling on a E- Tourist UAE Visa. Will I require to get OK to Board? I'm a college student in Chennai, so i guess my passport is ECNR.

Plus I have to travel on Friday and they don't accept temporary identification in the airport. Also my id doesn't expire until 2025 . I'm just figuring out if I should go to the dmv to get it updated or leave it as it is since it doesn't expire
