Why can't the police arrest fake travel Agent scamming travellers from their hard earned money?

I bought a ticket from them and after few weeks the airline contacted me that they have called and cancelled the the trip and asked for a refund, since I paid by bank transfer I have literally lost my money.

Please don't use Accor Travels, they are Indians using London numbers to scam desperate travellers looking for a good deal. Why can t the police arrest fake travel Agent scamming travellers from their hard earned money

Because they need good solid evidence not just your word.

Scammers are a big problem and i feel for you but you do bear some responsibility here. Everyone should know by now that Indians on phones can't be trusted. If you hear an Indian you should just hang up. The police can't do anything, it's down to the Indian authorities and i doubt it's on their list of priorities. If something looks too good to be ture, it probably is. Have you contacted your bank to see if they can help you get your money back?

Call the police wherever you live and report the fraud. Then call your bank and ask them to help recover the money.

Maybe they CAN arrest them. But you will have to present them with a solid heap of evidence first.

They CAN but there are several problems.

If they aren't in your Country(which is likely) it makes jurisdiction issues almost impossible.

It is really a "low value" crime. Meaning the resources to investigate to even try and find them would be better spent on bigger frauds.

Related to that is that none of the information they gave you is real or really traceable. Making finding them next to impossible.

They key is just to not try to fall victim
If it sounds too good to be true… It probably is. If they request a Wire Transfer, Money Order, or Gift Cards… They are a SCAM.

Take it up with ABTA and they should be able to advise on what can be done
