Do TSA Security employees at airports ever run into overly friendly smiling customers and sometimes chatty that are flying?

Yeah. Me. Easier to be pleasant and have them want to get rid of you, than have stand there and argue with the hand-scanner who called two burly ARMED security guards because I was wearing a front-hook bra. (TOLD her I had screws in shoulder from surgery - she was too dumb to figure out THAT was why I had to wear things easy to get in and off.) So now I go into chatty excessive detail and they move me thru at light speed.

Probably. There are all kinds of travelers, so I'm sure they encounter chatty ones, grouchy ones, sleepy ones, etc.

YES some passengers are actually quite pleasant to deal with.
Only a few make it their job to be difficult, obnoxious or deliberately push the rules slowing the line for all.

I forgot I packed my gun. Really?

2018 over 800.000,000 passed by security.

Finding over 80 guns per week. One third with a chambered round.
Guns were found at HALF of US Airports.

Of course. In fact most are. It's just the few people who show up 30 minutes before their and expect to go to the front the the 45 minute line that annoy EVERYONE

Yes, of course. What is your point?

You have chosen a best answer, but I will answer anyways.

Yes I have. There's no need to be overly friendly. Just be yourself. If you have no weapons or explosives in your carry on then you just get through security without a problem even if you or your carry-on is selected for additional screening.
