How do I become a commercial pilot?

I have some questions in this regard:

1. Can I get a CPL by completing 250 hours on any aircraft such as the cessna 172 or a particular aircraft is required?

2. After getting my CPL can I join an airline as a FO before getting an ATPL?

3. What kind of course will I require to convert from the cessna 172 to an airliner such as the 737? And what is the average fees for such a course?

4. What else will I require after getting my CPL to fly as a FO for an airline?

Boyfriend neglected dog all weekend, should I rehome her?

We went away for the weekend for a wedding, left early Saturday morning, I'm usually the one to ask my sisters to look after the dog, and this weekend my boyfriend said he would take care of it. Well, as we're getting ready to head home for the airport I ask, so did your sister get into the house okay? This is when I realize he never verified with his sister to make sure our dog was fed and let out of the house. I'm guessing that he asked her earlier in the week to stop by and then thought she would just automatically know what to do. So our dog has been sitting at home all weekend, hungry and alone and he doesn't seem that upset about it. I asked him yesterday if he is sure it is all taken care of and he had an attitude and was like, "yes! It's taken care of!" Needless to say I'm LIVID. This is the dog he told me he wanted to adopt and begged to get and yet I'm the one to walk it, make sure it gets fed, and ensure that we budget money to take her to the vet. I told him that we're going to rehome her and that I can't see myself continuing a relationship with someone so careless about a creature that depends on him for food and care. It makes me sick that we were both drinking it up and partying all night and he couldn't even bother to check with his sister to make sure our dog was taken care of. I'm at a loss, we live together and I have been hinting that we should probably find the dog a home for a few weeks since he can't even be bothered to play with her or walk her.

Are airlines particular about carry on dimensions?

I'm flying from Singapore to Chiang Mai on Scoot. The dimensions given for carry on on their site says 54cm x 38cm x 23cm (total linear dimensions can't exceed 115cm). I recently bought an American Tourister luggage dimensions of 50 x 39 x 25cm (total linear of 114cm).

Am I likely to get turned away for having my carry on too thick? I'm just afraid they might ask to put my luggage in a frame. It may not fit due to width but it still fits their total linear requirement.

Help! Should I return my luggage purchase?

Added (1). I'm wondering if there's anyone who's been on scoot who has experience with this kind of problem. I'm wondering why they included total linear dimensions in their sizing: /

Abbreviated name on airline ticket?

Abbreviated name on airline ticket? - 1

Added (1). I recently bought tickets through travel republic to bali. I put my mates name as 'alex' instead of 'alexander' which is on his passport. I asked them to change the name not long after booking and they told me the airlines refused. I'm flying with british airways and Qatar airways. The travel agents said I would have to pay off the current bookings, cancel it and rebook. I would get a refund on taxes but will still cos an extra £400-£500. Would my mate still be able to fly under that name?
