A bus will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport.

Easy peasy. Go to the hotel lobby. Make sure they know you're waiting for the shuttle. In some locations, you need to sign up the night before because there's so much demand, so ask at the desk. The shuttle will pull up- it will probably say Airport Shuttle on the side. Go out- they'll take your luggage. If you're going to an airport with different terminals, they'll ask what terminal you're going to, and then when they stop, they'll call out which terminal.

£7 for a 5 minute trip at Oslo.

Depends on the Hotel and Airport.

Arrival
Some hotels require you to contact them to have the shuttle pick you up. For other hotels they have regularly scheduled shuttles. You will need to go to the area that is designated for shuttle pickups. Any employee at the airport should be able to direct you to where this is.

Departure
You will need to either arrange a time with the Front Desk, or find out when they are scheduled. You need to make sure you are at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight, and 3 hours if this is an international flight. So you should plan to leave the airport at 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours before to account for driving there and possibly having to stop at different terminals to drop others off.

Gosh every Airport on the Planet and every one of the thousands of shuttles possible is exactly the same. NOT IN THE REAL WORLD

The shuttle arrives, the passengers get on, the shuttle driver proceeds to destination and passengers get off.

There could be a fee or maybe a courtesy gratuity for the driver.
You may need to call someplace for them to dispatch the shuttle to pick you up.
The shuttle might be on a schedule and you must book a seat or do you think it it just miraculously expands to unlimited size when it picks up a group.
My Airport has some shuttles that can do a return trip in about 20 minutes.

Others go two hours just to get to destination. They are scheduled. They are also not FREE. But may be part of your Hotel room charge.
They range in size from a car that hold 3-4 people, vans 10-12 passengers to buses with 40-50 passengers.

YOU call your hotel and ASK what the procedure is for your specific travel. The pick up point. The procedure to call for a shuttle.
At the Hotel you ASK about your return to Airport and the Hotels procedures. Most require you reserve a seat. As instant shuttles do not just appear as you desire to go back to Airport. They can get full and then you just need to take an earlier one, take the next one or make alternate arrangements.

Ask the hotel. They are the ONLY people who know exactly how their own hotel shuttle works.

Depends on hotel and airport
The shuttle service between a hotel in Dallas and the DFW airport is significantly different then the shuttle service from a Manila hotel to the Nino Aquino International Airport

It's a different process at different hotels.

First, not all hotels offer their own airport shuttles. If your hotel does not, then you will need to make arrangements with an airport shuttle company. You make a reservation with them, they give you a pickup time, and you wait at the designated location for your shuttle.

At hotels that do offer airport shuttles, you might still find differences in the procedure. In some cases, the shuttle leaves at regular intervals, such as every hour, and you just show up and hop on. In other cases, you have to make a reservation and show up at your designated time.

If you're nervous by any means, just clarify with the driver on where you're going and stuff.

You get yourself and your luggage to the hotel entrance at the appointed time. The bus picks you up. That's it. Don't be late. The bus WILL leave without you.
