What's the best way to travel from NY to NJ?
Okay so I live in upstate New York (Niskayuna to be exact) and I want to go to New Jersey for this convention thing. The drive there's two hours but I don't drive and my parents/friends/family won't drive me. I looked up flights from the Albany airport to NJ and they are literally $400+ For a less than 2 hour flight which is absurd. Is there a cheaper way I can get there? Would it be cheaper to go to NYC and go to JFK for a flight? It's so close so I feel like it's hard to find a flight there but I can't think of any other ways to travel. I really don't think a Lyft or Uber driver would want to take me that far and I'll feel bad for requesting such a thing. Let me know please
Train, bus?
The best way is certainly not by airplane, Lyft or Uber. Going such a short distance by airplane often costs more than going a long distance. It could be cheaper to go from Florida, for example, to NJ.
Some of the many better ways include:
1) Some of the buses from Albany to New York City stop in NJ. Even if you can't get a bus directly to NJ, you could get a bus to NYC and then another bus from NYC to NJ.
2) Amtrak train from Albany-Rensselaer to New York City, then lots of buses and trains from New York City to NJ. (The train does not stop in Albany. The nearest station to Albany is in Rensselaer. But check whether the train also stops in Schenectady, which is closer to Niskayuna.)
3) There are lots of students at SUNY, RPI, etc., who drive to NYC or NJ and will let you ride with them if you pay for the gas. And similarly other students in NYC who drive to the Albany area. However, the travel schedule of students varies based on class schedules; the largest numbers travel when they have a week or more off from classes.
Coyote cabs are cheap

I'm looking for an airline company that includes luggage. Most airlines allow a carry on and additional charges for luggage. Any suggestions?
