Do I need to have a passport to travel from Harlingen, Texas to Chicago, Illinois?
I'm 18 years old and i have a drivers permit, which is my only form of identification but it's expired. (Looks just like a normal Texas ID) but just to be safe, i'm going to get an official Texas ID. But would that be good for identification at the airport? Or do i still need a Passport?
You only need a passport to go into another country. Chicago is part of America.
You will need a real id soon
You don't need a passport if you are a US citizen but you do need a valid ID, not an expired driver's license
In order to get on a plane, you need a form of ID listed on TSA's website (tsa.gov)
A passport is not required to travel within the US. Your Texas issued driver's license is fine at this point for flying domestically. If it is not a 'Real ID', then in the coming year you will need to get that. It is still issued by your state, but it requires more identification to get it than a standard license and meets federal standards.
No coutry in the world requires a passport for internal travel.
A passport is not required to board a domestic flight, just a valid photo ID (although a current passport would suffice). As of October 2020 your state issued ID must have a gold star on the upper right corner to conform to the federal "Real ID" requirements.
A list of the appoved IDs for travelling on domestic flights is on the attached link, as others have mentioned you will need to get a real ID compliant ID at some point, but it's not required just yet.
No you don't need a passport to fly within the US, it would be a good idea to have one since it is a universally accepted ID.
No. I believe in America you only need a passport to go to another country. As long as you stay in America, you should be fine.

- What documents do I need to travel in Mexico? Okay so here is my situation. I'm a US citizen (born in the US), however I have the option to become a dual citizen because my mom is from Mexico. I'm going to be flying on a US plane from Texas to Mexico City, then I'll be flying on a Mexican airline from Mexico City to Cancun. Do I need a visa? Or any other special documents besides a US passport? Would it be a lot easier if I get my Mexican citizenship?
- I just volunteered to give my seat up for a travel voucher. Do I even need to show up to original flight? I can drive home in rental? I volunteered my seat upon check in for my flight with united from Chicago to Cincinnati. I could easily drive there and make it back to Cincinnati faster than my original flight in my rental. Do I need to be present at the airport for my original flight to redeem the travel voucher?
- What airport does the registered mail coming from Italy to Houston, Texas arrives to? It arrives to one of NYC's airports and from there it is redirected to various states of the US? I'm just asking to understand what will be the path of the mail. Thanks, folks. Thank you very much Rona Lachat, for your answer! It's been very useful. The international mail office of Italy is probably located near to Malpensa Milan Airport (it is only that one for the whole country according to what I've read).
