Can I fly from tj to Guadalajara with no passport?
So I'm taking a flight tomorrow from Tijuana to Guadalajara, but I don't have a physical copy of my passport. I only have the receipt that I paid for it and applied for it. The airline I'm taking is Volaris. Do I need the passport to take the flight? Or is it just to re-enter the US?
ABSOLUTELY NO! For a start, the airline won't even let you get to the boarding gate!
It is a domestic flight. The Volaris website says that you need "IFE, Passport or professional certificate." Since you apparently aren't a Mexican, you wouldn't have an IFE and 'professional certificate' also probably doesn't apply to you.
The airport's website says: " It depends on the airline. Some airlines require only official identification for a domestic flight. Official identification is an official government-issued identification such as a driver's license, professional identification or passport. Some airlines, however, only accept an official government-issued identification, and a passport, and this will depend on that airline's policies. We recommend that you contact the airline you will be flying for additional information."
Contact Volaris to be sure (don't go off of what random people on the internet say).
To get back into the US by land, you need one of the documents here:
However, the site for the bridge from the airport says you need a passport to go into Mexico and to return to the US. You might not even get across the border. You also need to fill out some paperwork.
"If you are a foreigner traveling to Mexico, you must fill out a Multiple Migration Form (FMM), also, consider that if your stay is longer than 7 days you must pay for your immigration rights. To speed up your process on the day of your crossing, we recommend doing it online following this link."
The Mexican Government also requires you to have a passport if you go beyond the border zone:
"The FMM applicant shall hold a valid and current passport or card passport (Tarjeta Pasaporte) in accordance with the international law regulations; in case the country of citizenship requires it, the passport must have a valid unexpired visa.
The applicant is aware that the card passport (Tarjeta Pasaporte) can only be used in the border crossings by land and for visiting the border zone; it might not be used to travel to the territory of the Mexican Republic or used for international air trips.
The applicant shall complete the information needed in the request of the FMM, as appears in his/her passport.
The applicant accepts under oath, that the information and documents provided are true; therefore, the applicant acknowledges herein that if any false information is provided, he/she could be subject to penalties in accordance with the applicable legal regulation."
I don't think you are going anywhere tomorrow.
You have to get into the Airport.

I'm flying Scandinavian Airlines and my plane ticket has my first, middle, and last name but my passport only has my first and last name. Does anyone have any experience with this or think it will be an issue? I called the travel agency and they told me they could not do anything to correct the middle name. I was also thinking about bringing another form of ID like a birth certificate or social security card to be safe.
