Does is matter that my first name if different on my driver's license and my airline ticket?

Does is matter that my first name if different on my driver's license and my airline ticket?

OH OH. Sounds suspicious. Who are you really?

Yes… Though it *may* depend on how different and which airport security person checks…

For example, if your drivers license has Jamie Alfredo Larson and your plane ticket shows Alistair Mahogany, you will have a problem. If the plane ticket shows Jamie A Larson, you may have a lot less chance of a problem. Contact the airline BEFORE you get to the airport and get it corrected so the drivers license, plane ticket and boarding pass names match.

ID Thief

Yes. The Boston Bomber managed to go to Russia and back and not get caught in a background check because of a misspelled name. Now they require your photo ID to match EXACTLY with your airline ticket name. They are not going to search for all possible combinations, only for the name on your ticket so if your ID does not match it, you are screwed. Best to fit it As soon as possible.

Yes it does matter. The name on the ID needs to match what is on the boarding pass. Having a first name that doesn't match is unacceptable.

If you had already made the reservations, it is recommended that you contact the airline to have it fixed.

Yes it matters very much even.

No ****

Yes their going think fraud

Yes it matters.

  • First and Middle name joined on plane ticket online? I'm a first time flyer. Someone purchased a plane ticket from Delta online, he gave me the confirmation code to log in as a guest and I did with my first and last name. I checked on the flight details that my first and middle name are joined together. Will that be a issue when I get to the airport to show my ID?
  • SEQUENCE OF NAME ON AIRLINE TICKET My name is John Geo Smith. My passport Surname Smith My passport Given Name is John Geo My AIRLINE TICKET name is John Geo Smith Is this correct? Why do some people say last name is suppose to be first then first then middle? Such as Smith John Geo. @Aster Rhoids, just confirmed with airlines… You're wrong.
  • Trying to get a plane ticket with Southwest Airlines. When trying to open an account it takes my name ok, but when it comes to the address,? It keeps telling me to enter a valid address. I did give them my correct address! I have tried Chrome, Firefox, and Bing all with the same results. I have tried this many times over two days with the same results. What gives?
  • Plane ticket has first, middle and last name but my passport only has first and last name? I'm flying Scandinavian Airlines and my plane ticket has my first, middle, and last name but my passport only has my first and last name. Does anyone have any experience with this or think it will be an issue? I called the travel agency and they told me they could not do anything to correct the middle name. I was also thinking about bringing another form of ID like a birth certificate or social security card to be safe.
