(Re-repost) help with plane ticket? (Read the details.)?
Alright, let me try and explain this better.
I'm 15.
I'm flying alone.
My parents are buying the ticket.
You can't choose 1 child and 0 adults for a ticket.
So we went with 1 adult, and had to put my birthday in the year 2000 instead of 2003.
My question simply is,
Can we explain to the people at the airport desk our issue and how I'm not 18? Thanks.
Added (1). I straightened it out, called the airline. Year is fixed.
Personally, I'd call the airline and try to get that straightened out in advance, or at least to get their input. Probably should have called before purchasing when you guys were unable to do it as one kid and no adults. Plenty of minors fly alone, though different airlines may have different policies about that. Most airlines supposedly allow kids 15 and over to fly alone without the additional "unaccompanied minor" fees and whatnot and consider those passengers as "young adults." So maybe the adult ticket was the right one to choose… Though probably wouldn't have lied about the age as that could look a little suspicious.
Still, I'd call them, imo, at least so you won't have to worry on the day of your flight. Maybe it could just be excused as having accidentally entered the birth year wrong and they can change it in their system.
As everyone has told you, you MUST call the airline. It's not difficult- you'll just be on hold for a while. 15 year olds fly by themselves all the time- you shouldn't have had to lie about the birthdate, and if the date on the ticket record doesn't match whatever ID you have, it could be a problem. Ask them if you need an ID, too.
No; that's not going to be OK.
The ticket details (including date of birth) need to be accurate. It's entirely likely you won't be able to board.
No.
That will not work.
At 15, you are probably not be considered a child by the airline You will need to get this straightened out before your trip.
- First and Middle name joined on plane ticket online? I'm a first time flyer. Someone purchased a plane ticket from Delta online, he gave me the confirmation code to log in as a guest and I did with my first and last name. I checked on the flight details that my first and middle name are joined together. Will that be a issue when I get to the airport to show my ID?
- Trying to get a plane ticket with Southwest Airlines. When trying to open an account it takes my name ok, but when it comes to the address,? It keeps telling me to enter a valid address. I did give them my correct address! I have tried Chrome, Firefox, and Bing all with the same results. I have tried this many times over two days with the same results. What gives?
- Plane ticket has first, middle and last name but my passport only has first and last name? I'm flying Scandinavian Airlines and my plane ticket has my first, middle, and last name but my passport only has my first and last name. Does anyone have any experience with this or think it will be an issue? I called the travel agency and they told me they could not do anything to correct the middle name. I was also thinking about bringing another form of ID like a birth certificate or social security card to be safe.
- Need help validating airline ticket? Long story short, i bought a ticket to another country with a travel agent because she was also gonna work on my visa… Well she came through with the passport and visa but she gave me a plain paper with no barcode lol it says "air ticket" with about 11 numbers and a "ref-mlthsr" is that enough to get on the plane?
