Are 3rd party airline ticket sellers reliable?

I recently used a company called flightskart to book a flight to Miami with American Airlines. I received a confirmation email with details of my purchase, but the money hasn't been deducted to my account and I've started to read awful reviews about this particular reseller. I'm wondering if I should call the airline to confirm they have received the request or contact the 3rd party site directly.

Nope

Yes, call the airline to make sure. Why would you wait?

I would call and confirm.

Some third party sites are reliable and others are not.

The Airline is the one that knows for sure if a seat has been booked for you.

The 3rd party site is the 3rd party. They take your money and MIGHT do what they say they will.
Getting your account debited does not happen instantaneously.in the process can take a day or two to show up on your account.

The 3rd party does not operate the plane. The Airline does.

Suggest you verify directly with the Airline. You should have your passenger number and flight details to check online. Or talk to a human at reservations.

The email confirmation from the 3rd party site should have included the reservation number with the airline. Go to the airline's site, create an account if you don't have one, and put in that number to see if they have your reservation. You know, it's not really cheaper with those sites. The airline sets the price. Sometimes, a site like Priceline has seats that haven't sold at reduced prices, but that's rarer and rarer as most flights are booked solid these days.

Yes unless you need a refund

Yes, they do it.

Yeah
