Standard is $3 to $5 in major US airports, judged by how helpful they are and how generous you are.
Some are better able to expedite you through security, help with baggage and carry-on more, have more waiting time and distances involved.

$2 unless he makes it a real exciting ride then add an extra buck.

How much is it worth to you. I tipped $5.00 as the person was real helpful and that amount was well worth it to me. I don't really know if that was to much or to little but they were happy with the amount along with me.

In today's world tipping those sorts of services with one dollar bills is cheap. $5 - $10 if they made you smile and you can afford it.

It depends where you are. If you are outside the USA there's no need to tip.

$5 would be good

My wife is in a wheelchair and tips $3 or more depending on how much luggage

There's no set amount you must tip. This is their job this is their method of employment. Does it take five minutes or thirty?
Is this a small Airport or a very large one? Did you get good help with some extras or was it just the bare minimum.

What would YOU expect if you were pushing someone. YES it matters if you are a small person or a large heavy one.
Are they Airline staff? Are they Airport staff?

Open the wallet the days of a few coins are long past. $5.00 is a reasonable starting point. It really depends on the time involved and what extra stuff beyond just pushing the chair they do to help you.

AT the gate. Do you need a chair to get on plane to your seat? Can you walk a few steps? DO YOU EXPECT EVERYONE TO GUESS?
Does your wheelchair need to go on the plane? Have you made arrangements at destination?
