Can I pass through Airport Security with Cooked lunch in my Carry-on/Personal during travels to the USA?

I plan on making a trip to the USA for the summer, However, one of my flights has a long stop where I will be waiting for more than 10 hours until the next plane departs. As you can imagine that's a lot of waiting, and I don't want to buy the expensive food available at the airport. So is it okay to prepare a cooked meal and bring along with me? Example: Baked Chicken and Rice with steamed vegetables.

Would flying between 40k and 45k miles a year make me a frequent flyer?

The past few years I have kept track of the amount of (real) miles I have flown -- I say real miles to distinguish them from airline miles, because I don't always fly with the same rewards program -- and the average is about 40 to 45k miles a year. In everyday conversations, would it make sense to consider myself a "frequent flyer," or is that only for people who fly like 100k plus every year?

Airport/Flight advice for a total noob? (JFK)?

Hi so this summer I'm going to fly out of DC to JFK and get on another plane to go to Norway where I'm doing a summer program thing. We decided that doing this would save 4-600 dollars so I can fly with Norwegian Air because of their low fares. Anyway, I'm sixteen and have never been on a plane before, and know nothing about airports. The fact that I will have to go to JFK by myself terrifies me. Can you give me some advice for a total noob and maybe walk me through the process?

Why don't we put restrictions on airlines that take advantage of passengers?

Airlines are cramming economy class seats closer and closer, charging lots of money for "preferred" economy class seats (while not reducing the base fare), and charging for luggage. All of these are unethical means used to rake in greater profits at the expense of its passengers. With more passengers per square foot, overhead bins get filled quickly and they don't guarantee a spot for your bag. It's ridiculous. Here's what I'm proposing.

Airlines should be required to:
- Add 6 inches of legroom to economy class seats
- Stop charging for every checked bag. Allow for 1 checked bag free. That way people won't cram everything into a carry-on.
- No charging for regular aisle seats toward the front. That's ridiculous.
- Meals for flights longer than a certain duration.

It makes me angry when everyone hovers around the boarding gate 30 minutes prior to boarding. But they only do this because they aren't guaranteed a spot for their bag, which is the airline's fault.

With these new requirements, airlines would still make huge profits… Just slightly lower than at present, and it would be more fair and comfortable for the passengers.

Airport security tsa?

I'm bringing my wired keyboard along with the mouse in my backpack. And I was wondering during the security checkpoint, would I have to remove the electronics and put it in a separate tray?

I know that I have to put the laptop in a separate tray by itself. But how about the keyboard and mouse?
