1hr trip but my flight duration says otherwise?

I'm new at flying. I'm from florida, going to chicago. I know they are 1hr behind. I'm doing a nonstop flight, they say my flight departs at 8:00 AM and lands at 9:45 AM (which is an hour, correct?) but my flight duration says 2hrs and 40 minutes? My friend is supposed to pick me up from the airport and I don't want them to be at the airport too early when I actually won't land till 10 AM. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question lol I'm just a little confused

Added (1). Thank you!

Is it worth persuing an airline pilot career much later in life when you are older?

I'm 21 in college now and can't afford flight training. I'm trying to move out from my family and get my own apartment and and get my own car amongst other things I foresee in the future. It doesn't look like I will be able to begin flight training any time soon. Frankly, I think that by the time I would be able to finally afford it, I will be much older. If I'm too old, I read that no major airlines would really look at
me and the best I would be able to do would be a first officer. I won't be getting the incentives and benefits of the company since I wouldn't have been with them long enough. Is it worth it?

Flying with a large animal on Southwest Airlines?

Flying with a large animal on Southwest Airlines?

Added (1). I only fly southwest, and I'm seeking some tips from people who have flown with large dogs on southwest airlines. I understand that I would need to get my animal registered as a service/emotional support animal, but how does the experience usually go having an animal with you in the airport and on a plane? My dog is about 50 pounds and is well behaved.

How to start an Airline?

I'm a 19 year old entrepreneur and I've always wanted to start an airline, Recently I found just the right balance of crazy & courage to try to accomplish this dream.

I live in Alabama one of the most undeserved states in the US we only have 4 major airports and only one has all 4 of the major airlines (BHM), My idea is to not compete with the bigger airline but to work with them. I would like to start a small commuter airline that would operate short flights from the smaller airports to Birmingham where passengers can then connect to a major airline, One of the airlines I think would make a great partner is southwest because it is the only budget airline that flies to Alabama and they have the most destinations out of Birmingham. So if I could commute passengers to Birmingham then connect to southwest both of our companies would make an amazing profit.

I'm not a guru when it comes to this industry but I think one of you will be able to tell me more
