Is it bad that I'm nervous about being on a plane alone, but I love to travel?

My goal is to travel the world. Everyone has a passion, and traveling is mine. I've always been on planes with my parents, but this summer (I'm 17), I'm going on a plane by myself and will stay with relatives. I know my parents won't be able to always travel with me, and this is good practice. But I'm so nervous; navigating around the airport, buying food in the airport, being on the plane, getting my luggage when I land. So nervous. I will have to do this sooner or later, so this is practice for when I'm like 21+ and wanna travel.

Help with photos of Gatwick from 2002-2004?

It's when my partners grandad would take him to the airports and it's heartbreaking for him that he never managed to recover any images of the terminals back in those times.

Shanghai 23 hrs layover, do I need visa with American passport? Are lines too crazy long?

I'm looking for cheap tickets to Japan and one option is a 23 hrs Layover in Shanghai on June 8 with Asia Eastern Airlines. I'm traveling with my husband and my 1 y/o baby. As far as I read I don't need visa for a layover less than 24 hrs, but other page said I do need visa 🤨 also, have you being in Shanghai airport? Are lines to get in and out the airport too long? We have American passport btw.
